Georgian, Belarus FMs Meet in Minsk
Georgian Foreign Minister, Tamar Beruchashvili, met his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei in Minsk on June 29.
Beruchashvili and Makei met on the sideline of an informal foreign ministerial meeting of EU’s Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries. Minsk also hosted on the same day the first meeting of environment ministers of the six EaP countries.
The Georgian and Belarus foreign ministers discussed a broad range of bilateral political and economic cooperation issues, as well as implementation of agreements reached during the visit of Belarus President, Alexander Lukashenko, to Georgia in April, the Foreign Ministry of Belarus said.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry said that cooperation in frames of EaP was also discussed.
“The two countries have a well-defined plan of developing bilateral relations,” Beruchashvili said after the meeting.
