PM Resigns in Breakaway Abkhazia
After resignation of the Abkhaz leader, Alexander Ankvab, his ally Leonid Lakerbaia has also stepped down from the post of prime minister, Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported on June 2.
Finance minister and vice-premier of the breakaway region, Vladimir Delba, 39, will be an acting prime minister, said speaker of breakaway region’s parliament and acting president Valery Bganba.
Apsnipress also reported that cabinet members in the breakaway region will retain their posts as acting ministers before the snap presidential election, which is scheduled for August 24.
