Georgian, Russian Diplomats Hold Phone Conversation
A day after meeting in Prague, Georgian PM’s special envoy for relations with Moscow and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin held a telephone conversation on April 18.
"In follow-up to their recent meeting in Prague, the interlocutors have exchanged views on specific practical issues of bilateral relations,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday evening.
It also said “upon Abashidze’s request” Karasin informed the Georgian diplomat about results of the quadripartite talks in Geneva on Ukraine.
The U.S., Russia, Ukraine and the EU agreed on “concrete steps” during the talks in Geneva on April 17 to de-escalate tensions in the eastern parts of Ukraine. Karasin was accompanying Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the talks.
