Russia Removes Ban on Import of Fruits from Georgian

Russia will remove ban on import of some agriculture products from Georgia starting from October 14, the Georgian and Russian authorities said.

The agreement was announced after a meeting between head of the national food agency of the Georgian Agriculture Ministry, Zurab Chekurashvili, and head of Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), Sergey Dankvert in Moscow on October 10.

Russia has removed ban on import of citrus fruits, as well as grapes, apple, pear, apple quince and nuts.

Starting from June Russia removed ban on import of Georgian wines and other alcohol drinks, as well as mineral waters and tea.
