Putin Meets Abkhaz Leader
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin met Abkhaz leader Alexander Ankvab in Sochi on August 15 to discuss “cooperation between the two countries,” Kremlin said in a brief press release.
Providing aid to Abkhazia to mitigate the effects of heavy rains in July and August, which damaged infrastructure and houses in Gagra and Ochamchire districts of the breakaway region, were also discussed, according to the Kremlin and Abkhaz leader’s spokesperson.
