Court Orders to Suspend Selecting New Head of Public TV
Tbilisi City Court ordered Georgian Public Broadcaster’s (GPB) board of trustees on March 15 to suspend competition announced for selecting new general director of GPB.
Suspension of the competition is an interim measure pending court’s final verdict into a lawsuit filed by ex-head of GPB Giorgi Baratashvili, who claims that his dismissal by the board of trustees on March 4 was illegitimate.
The court said that it would launch hearing into Baratashvili’s lawsuit on April 8.
