Head of Russian Orthodox Church Meets Abkhaz Leader

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, met with visiting Abkhaz leader Alexander Ankvab in Moscow on March 12.

“Spiritual and cultural relationships between the peoples of Abkhazia and Russia were discussed during the meeting,” the Russian Patriarchate said.

During the visit to Moscow, the Abkhaz leader is also expected to meet President Vladimir Putin.
