U.S. State Department and DoJ Officials Visit Georgia
U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Thomas Melia, will be visiting Georgia on December 12-13 as part of a regional trip which also includes Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He will be accompanied by Catherine Newcombe, a regional director for Eurasia at the Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training.
“They will have meetings with Georgian government officials, as well as media and civil society representatives,” the U.S. embassy said on Wednesday. “The United States is committed to supporting democratic development in Georgia that will bring Georgia closer to achieving its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.”
