Central Election Commission ruled on Wednesday to hold repeat elections in seven precincts of three single-mandate constituencies on October 14, which will define winners of majoritarian contest in those three districts.

Repeat polls will be held in five precincts of Khashuri single-mandate constituency in Shida Kartli region; these are precincts No.3; No.8; No.10; No.45 and No.46. Sergo Kitiashvili of the United National Movement (UNM) and Georgian Dream’s candidate Valery Gelashvili are key contenders in the Khashuri constituency.

Repeat elections will also be held in precinct No.5 of Signagi single-mandate constituency in Kakheti region, where ex-head of State Audit Agency Levan Bezhuashvili of UNM and Georgian Dream’s Gela Gelashvili are running.

Repeat polls will also be held in precinct No.4 of Gori single-mandate constituency where UNM’s Giorgi Tatishvili and Georgian Dream’s Malkhaz Vakhtangashvili are two major contenders.

Repeat elections in all of these precincts were set after election results there were annulled because of violations.

Race between Georgian Dream and UNM majoritarian candidates in these three single-mandate constituencies was very tight.
