Two New Governors Appointed
New governors were appointed in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Shida Kartli regions, Georgian President’s spokesperson, Manana Manjgaladze said on July 10.
Ivane Tsiklauri, former deputy head of Special State Protection Service, was appointed as the governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti region, replacing Lasha Chkadua. The latter became deputy minister in the newly established state ministry for employment.
Sulkhan Sibashvili, former deputy head of the President’s administration, was appointed as the governor of Shida Kartli region, replacing Giorgi Tatishvili. Before becoming the governor last September, Tatishvili was a majoritarian MP from Gori single-mandate constituency.
