Saakashvili: Free Trade Talks with EU to Start in Dec.
PM Nika Gilauri will visit Brussels in December for the opening of talks on deep and comprehensive free trade agreement with the European Union, President Saakashvili said at a meeting with cabinet minister in Kutaisi on November 22.
“That means that in year and a half, maximum in two years, our products will gain free access to the European market. This is of vital importance for Georgia’s economy,” Saakashvili said.
“Sometime in March or April we will launch talks with EU on visa-free travel. You know we already have visa facilitation [agreement with EU],” Saakashvili said, adding that visa-free travel rules with the EU “is a matter of next few years.”
