Russian Roadblock at Igoeti
Russian forces had a roadblock reinforced with APCs at the village of Igoeti on the Georgian main east-west highway, on a halfway between the town of Gori and the capital Tbilisi. It was the Russian troops’ closest point to Tbilisi. The checkpoint was removed on August 22, as the Russian forces launched pulling back from some of the areas on Georgia proper.
