Free Economic Zone Planned in Adjara

President Saakashvili said the government was considering setting of free economic zone in Adjara Autonomous Republic.

"We are working on free industrial zone in Khelvachauri; we have investors. We also work on a new concept to create free economic zone, like the one in Poti, in Batumi," he said at a meeting with journalists from several television stations late on May 25. He did not elaborate further details of the plan.
