Saakashvili: ‘Georgia – First Modern State in Caucasus’
President Saakashvili said on March 17, that “Georgia was the first to have created a precedent of establishing a modern state in Caucasus.”
“It makes everyone mad,” he continued, “because no one wanted to believe that it was possible to create the state here, which would have accommodated tens of thousands of its citizens – not all of them have been accommodated, but we should bring this process to the end; [the state] which reacts very promptly on each concrete situation and which is doing its utmost to ensure that its children grow up in normal conditions.”
He was speaking while visiting a kindergarten in settlement for internally displaced persons in Tserovani. Saakashvili also visited some of the IDP families in Tserovani, whose houses were flooded as a result of heavy rains in recent days.
