Saakashvili Visits Vancouver

President Saakashvili is paying an unofficial two-day visit to Vancouver, a host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Manana Manjgaladze, president’s spokesperson, said.

She, however, said she was not aware whether the President would attend Olympic opening ceremony or not.

Manjgaladze told Civil.Ge on February 12, that Saakashvili “plans to meet informally with leaders of some states”; she, however, declined to specify.

The Georgian President is accompanied by Minister of Culture and Sports Nika Rurua and head of the Adjara Autonomous Republic’s government Levan Varshalomidze. The spokesperson said that during the visit the delegation would also discuss possibilities of development of winter sports infrastructure in Adjara.
