Saakashvili to Deliver ‘New Vision’ on Economy to MPs
President Saakashvili will deliver speech to the Parliament on October 6 and present “new vision related to economic novelties,” Davit Bakradze, the parliamentary chairman, said on Monday.
“This will be an initial vision on the issue and he will inform us about concrete proposals on how he views new economic policy and then the government will submit concrete draft laws in frames of this package,” Bakradze said.
At a meeting with Prime Minister Nika Gilauri; Economy Minister Zurab Pololikashvili and Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili on September 18, President Saakashvili ordered the government to move “to the next stage of economic program”.
He said at that meeting that the government should develop and submit to the Parliament a package envisaging “firmer guarantees for the private property, firmer guarantees for investments to create more opportunities for our society so that they improve their economic condition.”
