Patarkatsishvili Family Says Holds Video Evidence of Berezovsky Visit
The family of late tycoon, Badri Patarkatsishvili, said in a brief statement on September 23, that it has CCTV camera footage proving that exiled Russian tycoon, Boris Berezovsky, visited Tbilisi two weeks ago.
“We possess unquestionable evidence in a form of CCTV camera footage and witness testimonies, that the visit took place overnight from September 11 to September 12. The visit was strictly confidential and the [Patarkatsishvili] family is not aware of motives or goals of this visit,” the statement reads.
A Georgian news agency, InterPressNews, reported on September 19 quoting unnamed “reliable source” that while in Tbilisi Berezovsky visited a grave of his former business partner, Patarkatsishvili, who is buried in a yard of his hillside Tbilisi mansion.
The Georgian Interior Ministry has denied the reports about Berezovsky’s visit.
Nona Kandiashvili, a spokesperson of the Patarkatsishvili family, told Civil.Ge that the video footage showing Berezovsky visiting Patarkatsishvili’s grave was recorded by CCTV cameras installed in the mansion. She said that the visit was not pre-agreed with the family members, who are not residing in the mansion right now.
InterPressNews also carried on September 19 a brief interview with Berezovsky. Asked if he was in Tbilisi, Berezovsky responded: “I do not comment on my travel routes… Lot’s of information is usually reported for certain purposes and very often these information are not true.” Then asked if it meant that he was denying visiting Tbilisi, Berezovsky again repeated: “As I told you I do not comment on my travel routes.”
