Man Affiliated with Burjanadze’s Party Beaten
Amiran Bitsadze, who is affiliated with Nino Burjanadze’s party Democratic Movement-United Georgia, was kidnapped and brutally beaten up by a group of armed men on Sunday evening, his relatives said.
Bitsadze, who is a relative of Burjanadze’s husband, Badri Bitsadze, was hospitalized with multiple bodily injuries, including in his head.
His relatives said that Bitsadze was driving with his friend outside Tbilisi when several vehicles blocked their way, beaten Bitsadze friend and taken Bitsadze himself in the suburb of Tbilisi, where he was beaten. Relatives also said that Bitsadze had two wounds supposedly inflicted by shots from less-lethal projectile launchers. Doctors have not yet commented on exact nature of injuries.
Police said it was investigating the case.
