Gachechiladze Says Traveled Abroad to Raise Funds for Protests
Levan Gachechiladze, an individual opposition politician and one of key figures behind the ongoing protests, said he had traveled abroad this week to raise funds for “continuing struggle.”
He did not speak about the details of his trip to Europe or whom he met with.
“Let the authorities know: yes I was there to get money. Whatever they [the authorities] say about it, I know that I am honest before my country. Time will come and I will say where I was and whom I met. I returned with very optimistic pledges [about funding]; we need money to boost our movement and for our victory,” Levan Gachechiladze told protesters outside the Parliament on June 19.
“I am sure this money will reach us in several days, very soon and we will put forth new strategic and tactical elements on how we should continue our struggle,” he added.
