Two Held over ‘Assault on Police’ at Protest Venue
Police arrested two persons, “who were directly involved in the May 28 assault on policemen outside the Parliament in which five policemen were severely injured,” the Georgian Interior Ministry said in a statement on May 29.
It also said that the police was searching for three other suspects.
Two policemen, who according to the Interior Ministry, were stabbed in a clash with protesters late on May 28, remain in hospital.
