Saakashvili Hails Ties with Bulgaria
Georgia has “problem-free relations” with Bulgaria, President Saakashvili told a small group of Georgian journalists in Sofia on the sideline of energy summit, where he also met with his Bulgarian counterpart, Georgi Parvanov.
“Bulgaria is very good trade partner for Georgia, with which Georgia had a positive trade balance,” he said. “We should further boost ties with Bulgaria… Although here [in Bulgaria] are various influences, we manage to solve even the most sensitive issues with this country without any problems.”
Bulgaria was Georgia’s ninth largest trade partner in 2008 with trade turnover of USD 231 million.
