NATO Parliamentary Assembly Delegation Visits Georgia
NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation led by its President, John Tanner, will meet with Georgian officials and opposition representatives in Tbilisi on April 7.
Meeting with Parliamentary Chairman, Davit Bakradze, and President Saakashvili are also planned.
NATO Parliamentary Assembly President, John Tanner, said while addressing NATO summit on April 4 that the alliance and Russia’s “interests do not always coincide.”
“Yet, there are important areas where they do,” he said. “We must build a relationship to address our common strategic interests. But we also need to be clear that Russia has no veto over the sovereign decisions of its neighbours. Russia needs to understand that NATO enlargement threatens no-one.”
