MoD Says Hand-Grenades Missing from Military Unit

The Georgian Ministry of Defense (MoD) reported on Monday that hand-grenades have been lost from the military unit located in the Adjara Autonomous Republic.

In what was an unusual discloser of sensitive information, the Ministry of Defense said that RGD-5 and F-1 types of hand grenades, number of which MoD has declined to specify, were lost from the fifth infantry brigade.

The Defense Ministry also said that the investigation was ongoing into the case, which, it said, was revealed on March 27 after a routine inventory of munitions.
