Russian Action Movie on August War
Russia’s state television station, Channel One, will air on March 29 an action movie inspired by the August war with Georgia.
The fictional story tells of a U.S.-based entomologist and a female Russian journalist who unintentionally capture evidence that Georgia started the war while they were trying to film rare night butterflies.
The trailer for the movie, Olympus Inferno, shows Georgian military chasing the two to obtain the evidence.
The movie director, Igor Voloshin, told Reuters that the movie it should be seen simply as an action film about two young people who get caught up in the war.
The movie was shot in Georgia’s another breakaway region of Abkhazia.
