Alasania: Authorities ‘Play with Fire’
Irakli Alasania, leader of opposition Alliance for Georgia, has claimed that he had “reliable information” that the authorities had a plan of, what he called, “physical reprisals” against the Alliance’s activists.
“Such a scenario will further deepen confrontation between the society and the authorities,” he told journalists on March 16, “and the authorities will be responsible if the situation spirals out of control.”
He called on the President and the Interior Ministry for restraint and added that having such plans “amounts to playing with fire.”
