Gazprom Chief Meets Kokoity
Alexei Miller, the chairman of the Russian energy giant Gazprom, met with South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity in Moscow on February 10 to discuss the construction of a new gas pipeline linking the breakaway region with Russia’s North Ossetia.
Gazprom said in a statement posted on its website that the construction of the Dzuarikau-Tskhinvali gas pipeline will end in the third quarter of 2009.
Presently the Tskhinvali region is supplied with gas through the Agara-Tskhinvali gas pipeline, controlled by the Georgian side.
