Georgian Delegation at Budapest Energy Summit
The Georgian delegation led by Nika Gilauri, the first deputy PM and the Finance Minister, has left for Budapest to attend a high-level energy summit on the Nabucco pipeline project.
Initially Prime Minister Grigol Mgaloblishvili was expected to lead the Georgian delegation, who is currently in Germany for further medical examination, according to the Georgian government.
Grigol Vashadze, the Georgian foreign minister, said at a press conference on January 26, that the Nabucco project gained even more importance after “Russia again tried to use energy resources as a tool of blackmail against one of its neighboring states [Ukraine].”
