Georgia Says Arrested Spy Suspects
The Georgian Interior Ministry said two citizens of Georgia have been arrested and charged with espionage and setting up of an illegal armed group.
The ministry said in a brief statement on January 23, that Grigol Minasyan and Sarkis Akopjanyan were arrested on January 22.
The ministry has declined to reveal other details of the case. “Further statements on the matter will be made later,” Shota Khizanishvili, the Interior Ministry spokesman, told Civil.Ge.
