Swiss Foreign Minister Visits Georgia

Micheline Calmy-Rey, the Swiss foreign minister, will sign an agreement with her Georgian counterpart, Grigol Vashadze, in Tbilisi on January 12 on the protection of Georgia’s interests in Russia by Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs said.

In December the Swiss Foreign Minister signed a similar agreement with her Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in Moscow on the protection of Russia’s interests in Georgia by Switzerland.

Georgia cut diplomatic ties with Russia after the August war.
