Georgian Defense Minister Meets U.S. Secretary of State
U.S. Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, met with Georgian Defense Minister, Davit Sikharulidze, in Washington on January 8.
Sikharulidze said after the meeting that plan of cooperation between to countries in the defense sphere was discussed, the Georgian television stations reported.
Sikharulidze, who is Georgia’s former ambassador in the United States, visits Washington together with a group of senior Georgian officials, including Foreign Minister, Grigol Vashadze; the latter and U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, will sign Charter on Strategic Partnership on January 9.
