Obama Says Russia Should Stop Bullying Neighbors

U.S. President-elect, Barack Obama, said Russia was “increasingly assertive” and “when it comes to Georgia and their threats against their neighboring countries, I think they’ve been acting in ways that are contrary to international norms.”

In an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, aired on December 7, Obama said that he wanted to cooperate with Russia “where we can” in particular in nuclear non-proliferation and fight against terrorism.

“But we also have to send a clear message that they have to act in ways that are not bullying their neighbors,” Obama added.
