Kokoity Says Wants Visa Rules with Georgia
South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity said on November 27 that Tskhinvali planned to introduce visa requirements for the Georgian citizens.
“We should develop and introduce visa regime with Georgia,” Interfax news agency quoted Kokoity as saying. “And all those persons who are willing to arrive in South Ossetia from Georgia, should apply to the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry for visas.”
Human Rights Watch said on November 25 its researchers observed in Akhalgori that many people had left the district already, fearing the militias and that the border will be closed.
