Parliament Approves Law on Amnesty

The Georgian parliament approved the law on amnesty with its third, final hearing making about 2,000 inmates allegeable to be release from prisons, according to lawmakers who have worked on the proposal.

Up to 6,000 convicts currently on probation will also be amnestied and sentences for about 4,000 convicts will be mitigated, according to the law.
