Saakashvili Meets Sarkozy

President Saakashvili met with his French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy, in Paris on November 13.

Saakashvili told journalists after the meeting, that issues related with the Russian aggression against Georgia were discussed in the light of EU-Russia summit in Nice on November 14.

“France played important role in Georgia during the August events,” he said and added that he hoped Europe will continue playing this role in the future as well.

Saakashvili also said that Georgia’s EU integration was also discussed and added that the French President had an initiative involving granting Georgia and Ukraine, as he put it, a status of “privileged partners.”
