Georgian Diplomat: Obama’s Election to Strengthen ‘Institutionally’ U.S-Georgian Ties
Irakli Alasania, the Georgia’s UN envoy, said that new administration in the United States would help to strengthen institutionally Georgia-U.S. relations.
“The Georgian-U.S. interstate relations will gain institutional strength and [U.S.-Georgian relations] will be based less on personal interdependence. This is very important for the long-term alliance between the two states; so I look with great optimism to the outcome of the [U.S.] election,” Alasania said in an interview with the Georgian daily 24 Saati (24 Hours), published on November 13.
