Saakashvili to Meet Sarkozy ? Georgian MFA

A meeting between President Saakashvili and his French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy, is planned in Paris, according to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting is expected to take place ahead of the EU-Russia summit, planned in Nice for November 14.

A statement posted on the EU French presidency website says that the EU-Russia summit “will be particularly marked by the consequences of this summer’s crisis in Georgia.”

“The discussions will focus on the implementation of the provisions of the Medvedev-Sarkozy six-point plan of 12 August 2008,” the statement reads.
