Saakashvili: Russia Continues Violating Ceasefire

President Saakashvili said on November 10, that recent developments in the village of Perevi were a provocation and yet another demonstration that Russia was in violation of ceasefire commitments.

“We will do our best to ensure that the occupants are not able to stage further provocations. But eventually we should understand that Georgia is involved in a very difficult struggle, in a very important and long struggle for liberation of our territories. We should act together with our partners in this struggle,” Saakashvili said. “The EU monitoring mission is explicitly reporting on serious violations by Russia. But generally, Russia’s presence on our territory is violation and infringement of everything. We will never tolerate it. Of course, we will continue very intensive and very serious diplomatic efforts. We will do our utmost so that our local population faces no problems in future.”

Saakashvili was speaking with journalists in the town of Akhalkalaki in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region.
