Georgia Says Bridge Blown Up in Gali

Russian forces in Abkhazia destroyed the Shamgona-Tagiloni bridge connecting the Gali region of Abkhazia with the Zugdidi region early on October 24, the Georgian Interior Ministry said.

This is the second bridge destroyed in Abkhazia within the past few days, according to the Georgian Interior Ministry.

“Such an action aims at cutting off the Gali population from the rest of Georgia,” the Ministry said in a statement.
