Opposition Leader Visits U.S.
Opposition politician Levan Gachechiladze, who was the main rival to Mikheil Saakashvili in the January 5 presidential polls, is visiting the United States.
On September 30 he addressed the Center for Eurasian Policy at the Hudson Institute over recent developments in Georgia.
“Saakashvili should understand one thing: he is responsible for avoiding the destabilization in Georgia,” Gachechiladze told reporters. “He should make decisions based on this… Georgia belongs to everybody and his chair cannot be privatized… This was the goal of my arrival here.”
