Russia Warns against New Military Adventures
Russia will not allow new military adventures similar to “Georgia’s aggression against South Ossetia,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisov said on September 26.
“Nobody should have any illusion – we will not allow new military adventures similar to the August attack against peaceful Tskhinvali,” RIA Novosti quoted Denisov as saying.
He also said that if Russia’s partners were unwilling to act jointly to strengthen regional and global security, Russian would act independently to defend its national interests.
“We are open for argued and constructive dialogue and are ready for joint work in the interests of strengthening global and regional security. But if our partners appear unprepared for joint activities, Russia will be forced to act independently to defend its national interests, but always in accordance with international law,” Denisov added.
