Russian Speaker Visits Tskhinvali
Boris Gryzlov, the speaker of the Russian State Duma, lower house of Parliament, arrived in Tskhinvali on September 22.
He is the second Russian official, after Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, to visit breakaway South Ossetia since Moscow recognized its independence.
Interfax news agency reported that Gryzlov, who is simultaneously the leader of the Russian ruling party, has already signed a cooperation agreement with the South Ossetian ruling party.
