NATO NAC Arrives in Tbilisi
Ambassadors of 26 member states from the NATO North Atlantic Council (NAC) and NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer have arrived in Tbilisi.
A NAC session will be held in the Georgian capital on September 15 and later on the same day a document on setting up the NATO-Georgia Commission will be signed.
On September 16 NAC and the secretary-general plan to visit the town of Gori, as well as to meet representatives of media and civil society organizations, as well as with the opposition. A meeting with officials from the OSCE and UN missions in Georgia is also planned. A joint news conference of the secretary-general and President Saakashvili is planned for the evening on September 16.
