Deputy FM Slams Russia’s ‘Clownery’ in Abkhazia, S.Ossetia
Russia’s decision to establish embassies in Tskhinvali and Sokhumi is part of Moscow’s “clownery” in those regions, Grigol Vashadze, the Georgian deputy foreign minister, said on September 9.
“This clownery now continues with the establishment of diplomatic ties, the opening of embassies and so on,” Vashadze told reporters. “Their major goal is to establish Russian military bases there.”
“Russia is implementing its plan [to have bases in Abkhazia and South Ossetia], but sooner or later Russia will have to pull out not only its occupation forces, but its so-called embassies, as well,” he added.
