Secessionist Leaders Meet in Moscow

The leaders of Georgia’s two breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia met in Moscow on July 10.

The South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported that Sergey Bagapsh and Eduard Kokoity, the Abkhaz and South Ossetian leaders, respectively, had discussed cooperation, amid increasing tensions in both regions.

Bagapsh also met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on July 10.
