Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Visits Tbilisi

Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze met with his Russian counterpart Grigory Karasin in Tbilisi on July 4 to discuss the bilateral relations, as well as the Abkhaz and South Ossetian conflicts.

“The Georgian side stated in strict and unequivocal terms its negative attitude towards the recent developments in the Tskinvali region during the last day and the night,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said. 

The sides agreed to continue a dialogue to prepare a possible meeting between the Georgian and Russian Presidents. This is the second meeting between Vashadze and Karasin in less than two weeks. The first one was held in Moscow on June 23.
