Solana to Visit Tbilisi, Sokhumi

Javier Solana, the EU foreign policy chief, will visit Georgia on June 5-6, his press office has reported.

Solana will meet President Saakashvili in Batumi, Adjaran Autonomous Republican, on June 5. Talks with the Georgian foreign minister and prime minister, as well as with Davit Bakradze, who is slated to become the new parliamentary chairman, are also planned. He will also meet opposition leaders.

During the visit he will also travel to Sokhumi and hold talks with the authorities of breakaway Abkhazia.
