‘We do not Plan to Burst into Parliament’ – Opposition Leader
Levan Gachechiladze, co-leader of the opposition coalition, said opposition’s planned protest rallies would not result in, what he called, Rose Revolution-type burst into the parliament.
“We should no way repeat Mikheil Saakashvili’s path,” he said in an interview with the Georgian daily, Rezonansi, published on May 31. “Way of violence is not our way.”
Gachechiladze’s remarks are in contrast with his earlier statement made at a protest rally on May 26, when he said: “Our key goal is not to let the parliament convene its first session, even at the expense of bursting into the parliament.”
