Russia Cancels Employment Quotas for Georgians
Russia has cancelled all employment and residency quotas for Georgians, Deputy director of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) Mikhail Tyurkin told Russian news agencies.
“We have carefully studied, taking into account the current population of Russia, what workplaces are available and who can occupy them, and arrived at the decision today that for the citizens of Georgia these quotas will not be provided – neither for residency, nor for work,” Tyurkin said. He added that FMS considers specialists from Georgia unnecessary for Russia.
