CEC: Polling Stations Open on Time

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) all the polling stations throughout Georgia opened without delay at 8 am on October 5 for the local self-governance elections.

CEC Chairman Guram Chalagashvili will hold several news conferences during the elections to inform the public about the voter turnout and the first early results of the elections are expected by midnight on Thursday.

Two local election watchdog organizations, International Society for Fair Elections (ISFED) and New Generation-New Initiative (nGnI), will carry out parallel vote tabulation (PVT). nGnI’s PVT results will be published on October 5, while ISFED will unveil its PVT results on October 6.
