U.S. ‘Disappointed’ with Russia’s Sanctions on Georgia
U.S. Department of State spokesman Sean McCormack said on October 3 that Washington was “disappointed” that Russia has introduced additional sanctions on Georgia.
“We’d very much like to see them [the Russian authorities] reconsider this,” McCormack said at a news briefing.
“Certainly we don’t think that the imposition of additional sanctions is helpful to that process. But you know, again, we will continue to be in conversation with both of them and certainly would hope that they would be able to make some changes and resolve some of these differences so that some of the underlying issues there can be addressed as well,” he added.
